Facilities
- Efficient, yet never impersonal our staff make it their business
to make sure your comfortably cocooned here. An expression especially
true for diners seated in our Bubble Cafe. Who have the swish of the
fountain water, the rampant foliage and the stars overhead as apt
accompaniments to our chef's specially created Fusion Cuisine. A Banana leaf-Wrapped Pearl Spot Fish, perhaps. An exotic blend of local Karimeen fish marinated in a Malaysian curry powder rounded off with a red coconut sauce.
If you can manage to waddle around after that. You could walk across to the KTDC ferry stop round the corner from the hotel. And take a sightseeing boat across to Old Fort Cochin. (Or else, have the hotel arrange a personal guide and taxi for you).
To visit the St. Francis Church (named after a visit by St. Francis himself). And take a look at where Vasco de Gama was first buried.
After which you can stroll down to see age old Chinese fishing nets that local fishermen lower into the waters even today. And if that should suddenly whet your appetite, you can always step across to the fish market, buy a fish and have it cooked at one of the little roadside diners.
Then, once you're back at the Residency, you can choose to trade the elbowroom there for a walk down the commercial district of Broadway, runnning parallel to the hotel. And pick up a traditonal Kerala sari or perhaps, some silver trinkets.
Or, you can really indulge yourself and book a ride down the backwaters on the Pathira Manal (our very own ample houseboat). The perfect way to cap an absolutely perfect holiday.
