And, standing right at the end of this vintage street is the ancient Jewish Syanagogue, the oldest on the continent. Over 400 years old, this house of worship is richly decorated with Belgian chandeliers and ancient Chinese hand crafted tiles.
While the six Jewish families that live here today are the straggling remnants of Old Jew Town. Home also to the Dutch Palace built in 1555, whose walls still bear vestiges of the original murals depicting tales from the great Indian epic, the Ramayana.
